My name is Sonia "Sunny D" Serba. I've been freestyling and rapping since 1999 or so, and I've been a bike messenger since 2003. I love bikes and performing in front of crowds. I've done about a hundred shows or more, but I don't have a lot of in-studio experience because that shit costs money where I'm from and, well, I'm a bike messenger! I've been to four CMWCs: Sydney, Dublin, Toronto (my hometown) and Tokyo. I've won a few alleycat races in Toronto too, well, first girl anyway. Once I came in second place overall and that was pretty dope. Usually I'm 3rd or 4th, sometimes further behind. I've flatted out the last couple races but I finished them anyway. DFL whatever, as long as I finish, right?
I love to travel, even if I'm usually broke overseas. Last year I visited NYC to see where hip hop started, like a Muslim visiting Mecca. I went on this wicked bike tour of the Bronx with Stoned Tone and met Angry Drew and we recorded a song after I went back home. I also visited a hero of mine, Eternia (www.eternia.ca).
I love to write so emails tend to be novels. I don't get the internet at home because I like to keep my expenses to a minimum. So that usually means my profiles don't get updated for months on end. I do have email on my phone, though, so that keeps me in touch mostly. Sort-of. Kind-of. Yeah.
